Display & themes: backlight, colour themes & the theme editor

Adjust the ATS Mini’s screen brightness, pick a built-in colour theme, and design your own from the browser with a live colour editor you can export and share.

The ATS Mini’s colour screen is configurable: brightness, a choice of built-in colour themes, and even a full custom theme you can design from the browser.

Backlight brightness

Brightness is adjustable from dim to full with the backlight up and down controls. Turning it down saves battery and is easier on the eyes at night; turning it up helps in daylight.

Built-in colour themes

The firmware ships several ready-made themes: Default, Bluesky, eInk, Pager, Orange, Night, Phosphor, Space and Magenta. They range from high-contrast daytime looks to dim red-on-black for night use. You switch between them from the radio’s menu.

The theme editor

The app goes further with a theme editor. It reads the radio’s current colours and lets you change each one with a colour picker, previewing the result on the radio live as you go. When you have a look you like, export it to a file, or paste in a theme someone else has shared. It is an easy way to swap colour schemes with other owners.

Layout and zoom (from the device menu)

The radio’s own menu also offers a couple of display options the app reaches through menu navigation: an alternative UI layout (for example a larger signal meter) and a zoom mode that enlarges the selected menu item for readability.

Opening the theme editor puts the radio into its theme-editing mode; close the editor when you are done to return it to normal.
